The Luna Brown Street Foundation

Who We Are

We are the friends and relatives of Luna Brown Street, a remarkable educator, who served her community for many years.  Commemorating her 90th birthday, the Governor General of Jamaica said-

Luna Brown Street must be regarded as one of those unique persons who never spared herself in working to make her community better....As a teacher, she was outstanding; and all of us who knew her and the work she has done will remember with pleasure that she achieved so much....Her passion for people found her in various homes and circumstances, always helping to resolve problems and improve the positions of people.  Besides her school activities [including her service as Headmistress of the Fair Prospect Elementary School] the voluntary work that she did responding to the needs of others made her one of the persons who will always be loved by all.

The Luna Brown Street Foundation was established in memory of this great educator and public servant and continues her tradition of service to others.
